Versus Mode (ブイエスモード Buiesu Mōdo) is the standard mode in the BlazBlue series. It appears in all the main series games.
In the start-up for versus mode, the player is presented with the option to play against a friend with a second controller or to fight against an AI-controlled opponent. Afterwards, the player can choose their character. If the player is going against the AI, then they can also choose which opponent they would like to face, the stage they would like to fight on, and the BGM before beginning the match.
