Normal Attacks[]

There are four types of Normal Attacks: a “Weak/Light Attack”, done with the A button; a “Medium Attack”, done with the B button; a “Strong/Heavy Attack”, done with the C button; and a “Drive” done with the D button. The Weak Attack does minimal damage, but is usually the fastest. Strong Attacks do a decent amount of damage, but are often slower than the Weak and Medium attacks. For most characters, attacks can be chained from weak to strong: A to B to C-to create a combo, via the Revolver Action mechanic mentioned below.

High, Low, and Mid Attacks[]

Mid attacks can be blocked while crouching or standing, High attacks can only be blocked while standing, and low attacks can only be blocked while crouching.

Special Attacks[]

Inputting certain commands with the four types of Normal Attacks will cause your character to perform a special attack.

Revolver Action[]

Every attack has a recovery animation, which leaves you unable to do anything. Revolver Actions, being the main chain combo mechanic of the series paralleling Guilty Gear's Gatling Combinations, allow you to chain together normal attacks immediately into one another without waiting for the recovery animation to complete via a "Cancel". The general rule for most characters is that they are able to chain from the weakest normal progressively into a stronger one later down the chain, albeit it still tends to be greatly character-specific in regards to which normals or command normals are cancel-able into what.

For example, if the victim gets hit by or blocks a standing B, the attacker normally can immediately follow up with a standing C, without waiting for the recovery animation from the said standing B to complete. Standing and crouching normals through Revolver Actions can also zig-zag into one another like so, and there exist normals however, that cannot either be chained into and/or cancelled out of.
